They don't have 2/3 of the congress but they still lied to get elected. Lame duck congress.

I think the message was pretty clear but is falling on deaf ears! You have to understand we have a one party system and it is the globalist CFR. All of them bow to their leaders and have their snoots in the trough for more money, the CFR runs the Fed Reserve and controls the money! What we want means nothing to these people at all only furthering their one world government that they think they will control is important to them. They are in for a rude awakening, When it comes down to it they will be set aside as will all the rest of us and be made into virtual slaves with no rights at all.
Right now the war is important to them as a means to bankrupt this country and as an excuse to destroy our freedoms and the constitution. All of this is necessary to prepare for their bringing out the fact we are now part of the North American Union. All of this seems extreme I know but I am being quite reserved. Dig into this and you will see it is much worse than what I am saying. For instance check out what the immigration reform bill they will probably pass really is.

Like the only cure for democracy (small d) is more democracy, we need STILL more Democrats to take down the Dumbya Coup. And I say Dumbya Coup because this attempt to fundamentally change the USA for the worse is likely to outlive the Dictator Dumbya tenure. It would have taken 66 Senate Democrats to override, since Repukes are hopeless. We NEED an HONEST election in 2008!!!!

Be patient. After the 2008 elections the Dems will have the presidency and majorities in both Houses of Congress so strong as to prevent filibuster. That's will be the Bush Legacy.
11 GOP congressmen confronted Bush about his lack of credibility where this war is concerned because they know he will cost them their jobs. They didn't confront him for no reason.

The majority did not vote for it. I didn't. Most of the Democrats whined about the war, but did any of them actually say they would bring the troops home? No they did not. They sidelined their constituents with a bunch of made up stupid scandals that didn't amount to a hill of beans. Anyone with any shred of intelligence knows that pulling out too early is a recipe for disaster for America.

Not every congressman is up for re-election every time, and not ever seat that was up was carried by the anti-war Democrats. Thus, not enough votes to override a veto.
You don't need to override a veto to end the war, tough, a simple majority is sufficient to stop any funding bill at all - which would end the war.

That's precisely why winning the congress in 06 was largely meaningless concerning making any substantive change. They won, but they didn't take enough to get a two-thirds majority, or even close to that.
Unless you have a serious majority, Congress is mostly useless as a policy maker. That's the whole idea.

I don't know who voted to "end the war". I never saw that on the ballot. And that wasn't an issue when I voted because I knew it would make no difference. It looks like I was proven correct.

Thank God they don't. You are just as pathetic as the wack-job representatives that you voted in. It is funny how the Democrats strategy to lace the military funding bill with a timetable to withdraw, backfired on them.
