i dont understand what to do with fractions!

1/2log(subscript 5) 36
1/3log(subscript 3)216

and please explain it, i have to understand it to graduate!

The fractions were originally exponents

The 1/2 was square root, the 1/3 was cube root.

Log(base 5) 36^(1/2)
or Log(base 5) 6

Log(base 3) 216^(1/3)
or Log(base 3) 6
