At the end of the chapter"The flight of the prince" Harry understands that sth is wrong with the locket as soon as he looks at it:
"He turned the locket in his hands.this was neither as large as the locket he remembered seeing in the Pensive, nor were there any marking upon it no sign of the ornate S that was supposed to be Slytherin's mark."
Dumbledore was a great deal smarter than Harry, why didn't he understand that the locket wasn't the one they were searching for?
I guess it was all a plan designed by Dumbledore,he had prepared a faked locket with a note in it,in order to replace it with the real locket so that Voldemort would thought the one who had destroyed his Horcrux had already died and couldn't find out who R.A.B was,
what do u think?

I don't think so, he poisoned himself to death, effectively, and even if the attack had not taken place then and Snape was free to help Dumbledore, it would have been a very near run thing indeed.

I think it isn't logical for Dumbledore to be R.A.B. - Why would he put himself through the agony of getting the locket if he knew it wasn't a Horcrux, and why would he pretend to not know how to get into the cave when, if he was R.A.B., he would have already been in the cave before?
R.A.B. is most likely to be Regulus Black, Sirius's brother... the letter is addressed to Voldemort as "The Dark Lord" which is what Death Eaters call him, and we know that Regulus was a Death Eater, and was killed by his fellow Death Eaters. It would explain why there was a "heavy locket that nobody could open" in the Black house in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix while they are cleaning out the cabinet... it is probably the locket Horcrux.

Well, JK Rowling never said that Regulus Arturus Black was RAB (as many people seem to believe), she called it a "fine guess." However, there is no reason Dumbledore would have undergone the ordeal with Harry just to fool Voldemort. And Harry seems to believe that Dumbledore didn't know the locket was already gone. And I think Dumbledore didn't find out until it was too late, why would he go to get the note if he wanted Voldemort to find it?
Also, JK Rowling has confirmed on her site that Dumbledore is dead (for those of you who are wondering).

It does not make any sense that Dumbledore would go all that way just to show Harry a fake horcrux and to drink a substance that he didnt understand what it was at first. In the world of harry potter anything is possible, maybe it was all just a clever rouse to get harry prepared to find the other horcux's.
My money is that R.A.B is Regulus Arcturus Black. The book says it would take 2 wizards to get to it. How about 1 wizard and a house elf named Kreacher?

I don't entirely understand what you are saying, but I do not believe that Dumbledore had planted the fake locket in the first place.
With educated evidence, R.A.B. is probably Regulus Arturus Black. I say this not only because he referred to Voldemort as the "Dark Lord" or that he was killed by Voldemort himself, but also because of his last name:
In other versions, the family name "Black" has been translated to the corresponding color of the language. For example:
English version: R.A.B. - the Black family - black
Dutch version: R.A.Z. - the Zwarts family - zvart
Finnish version: R.A.M. - the Musta family - musta

i don't think that makes any sense. Why would Dumbldore risk his and Harry's lives if he already knew it was a fake horcrux. RAB are also not Dumbledore's initials. and Dumbldore was in a state of delirium when they got the Horcrux and neither looked at the locket until after Dumbledore died.

No.
I think Dumbledore was a fantastic seer, who surely had seen his own death, and his part in helping Harry defeat Voldemort.
I have a mind to wonder about Amelia Bones, of whom we read about but never meet. The author never just mentions anyone casually, but Amelia is talked about, but never shown.
I guess we will find out in a month or so when the last book comes out!
