I tried to search for my own blog in yahoo and google and it doesn't appear..but then other peoples blogs appear in the results. Why do this happen? How can i make my blog appear in the search results?

It takes a while for the blog to be indexed. The quickest way is to have a site with a high page rank link to your blog. When the spiders visit that site, it will also visit yours. You may even see your blog indexed by google within the day.
You can also submit your sitemaps to google:-
http://tips-for-new-bloggers.blogspot.com/2007/02/submit-blogger-sitemap-to-google.html
and to yahoo:-
http://tips-for-new-bloggers.blogspot.com/2007/02/submit-blogger-url-sitemap-to-yahoo.html
