What is there to hate about her. She is not overrated or overexposed, she always gives back to her country and is involved in charitable events.
I love Celine Dion. She has one of the best singing voices in music history.

Hate is such a strong word. I really think if we could start using "softer language" to describe feelings, our emotions wouldn't end up being so "heated". I personally don't care for Celine, although I do enjoy her singing and she has performed some wonderful songs. I think sometimes she comes across as a bit stand-offish and people take offense to that.

Personally I love Celine Dion..Her show at Ceasers Palace Las Vegas is Wonderful...It is a shame that she is leaving at the end of December this year and Bett Midler is replacing her....If you get a chance try and see her before she leaves Vegas

I think that opinions were formed before "My Heart Will Go On." Besides, not everyone hated that song. I think that it's more of the Canadian thing.
Also, they are extremely jealous of her. She has on of the most amazing voices that I've ever heard.

I don't hate her, but I don't like her. To me all her songs sound exactly the same. I also saw her in an interview and she seemed rather pompous and self absorbed.

I don't hate her. I simply feel she's a boring one-hit wonder.
It would never occur to me to pay to sit through one of her performances although I'm sure she's a fine person.

that song was amazing and relates to the movie titanic well. Just try singing one of her songs, I agree,

Because most people formed their opinion of her based on one song. "My Heart Will Go On"
The song sucked and was overplayed, imo. I think a goodly number of people agree with me there. Most people also translate that to a dislike of the artist.
