well i've heard that breastfeeding will make your boobs look terrible. is this true? i've also heard that breastfeeding will make you loose the weight faster after you've had the baby already. I want to hear your expereiences and if you did breast feed, are they still the same, or you wish you hadn't? i'm only 4 weeks prego, but i'm thinking about breast feeding. i also heard it's very healthy and nutrucious for baby too and will save money from buying formula. and i'm 24 if anyone is curious. anything will help. thanks much.

Breastfeeding does make you lose your baby weight faster because making milk burns alot of calories and moves food to the breastmilk.

Its actually pregnancy that affects your boobs so much. Its hard to tell though because when you give birth your boobs are full and not deflated but after everything is gone they're different. So whether or not you breastfeed your breasts are going to change.

Breastmilk is the best for the baby, its made for your baby and its very nutritious. If you're open to it I would say give it a try. Even a little is better than none. For the first few days you make colostrum for the baby and its extremely good for the baby. It gives their imune systems an extra boost right at birth.

My mom breastfed all 6 of her kids and her boobs do not look terrible. I agree that just having a baby your boobs and body do change. For some women their skin gets saggy, for others, it goes back to the way it was, every women is different. Breastfeeding will not make you lose weight but it does burn 500 extra calories a day so it can aid you in your weight loss if you are eating right and doing light exercise. Breast milk is the best thing for your baby but some women arn't able to do it. If you google Nursing or anything to do with breastfeeding you will find tons and tons of info. Congratulations!

I have always had small breasts, and I am enjoying my nursing cleavage! It's NOT BREASTFEEDING that makes your boobs sag. It's PREGNANCY! After your baby is born, your breasts will be big no matter what. You'll be bloated, full of milk and carrying extra weight. While breastfeeding, you will lose the weight and the retained water, but keep the mammary tissue. After you wean, your breasts will deflate, but they're going to deflate anyway. I always imagined that all the engorgement from not breastfeeding would stretch your skin even more. Either way, you'll end up with saggy breasts, but if you nurse, you'll get to keep the nice, round breasts you have now for a few years (or months if you wean early) longer. Breastfeeding is great! Breastfeeding for any amount of time at all is a HUGE benefit to your baby. But I am not going to harrass you either way, as it is your body and your choice! I did for ten months, pumping up to four times a day at work, and I don't regret it. My son never had anything more than a stuffy nose until he was 19 months old! I know nursing had a lot to do with it.
It is a fact that you lose your pregnancy weight faster if you breastfeed. You do burn a lot of calories, surprisingly! I can't say my story was quite the same, as I was eating a LOT because I couldn't be on a prescription medication I take while pregnant or nursing, but I know many people who benefit from it physically. But remember you can't diet while nursing, you've got to be eating enough calories and getting enough nutrients yourself, because you are still your little one's sole source for nutrition!
It was an extremely rewarding experience for me.
As for your breasts changing... No matter if you nurse or not, they will change. When your milk supply comes in a day or two after giving birth, your chest gets HUGE... And it refills after every feeding. The more milk your child demands, the more you will produce. I loved having a huge chest while nursing... Ha! Was even tempted to keep pumping when I weened him, but my supply ran out!
I can tell a difference in my chest of course. I'm not as 'full' as before, but bras suit me just fine.
Congrats on your pregnancy and good luck!

I am still breast feeding my 6 month old and I was back to my pre-pregnancy weight in 4 months (along with a little excercise a couple of days a week). It definitely helps you lose weight. My boobs do seem a little smaller, I'll have to wait and see how they look once I stop bf. Breast feeding's good for the baby along with all the reasons that you have metioned above. It's also much easier for those middle of the night feedings instead of cleaning bottles and mixing formula!

It's not just very healthy and nutritious...I would do some more research if I were you to see what all the benefits truly are. All the current research says that it is the absolute best decision any Mom can make for their child.
And it's WAY cheaper than formula.
Anyway, age is primarily to blame for sagging boobs, and if anything breastfeeding makes your boobs bigger because of milk production. It is also a calorie-burner, up to 500 extra per day.

Having a BABY will make your boobs look terrible. It doesn't matter what your boobs are used for afterwards.
Your genes have a lot to do with it, but if you're going to deflate and sag, it won't matter whether or not you breastfeed your child.
Try and prevent it as much as you can with a really, really supportive bra and a nighttime cotton bra. Don't go around braless because your boobs are like lead cannonballs during pregnancy. Whatever elasticity you lose is not coming back. So keep 'em high!

well. my first i didnt breastfeed and my boobs were awful :( my second i did breastfeed, and they are still awful. saggy boobs typically come with pregnancy and motherhood. i dont know a single mom who has awesome boobs after having kids, without an amazing bra or a boob job. it is supposed to help you lose weight, but it doesnt for everyone. it helps you stop postpartum bleeding faster though, b/c it helps get your uterus back to normal. breastfeeding is an amazing experience, and it is healthy for baby, but its not for everyone. my first was strictly formula, and he is healthier and smarter than any breastfed baby i know. i cant even remember him ever being sick (nothing serious, a common cold here and there of course) since he was born. i know too many breastfed babies who are constantly sick to make that an arguable comparison. breast or formula is a very personal choice, and dont let anyone push you one way or the other. its what YOU feel comfy with and what YOU feel is best for both of you. i cried for weeks b/c i couldnt breastfeed my oldest, and i felt guilty, everything. it just wasnt for us. i was uncomfortable doin git, he sensed it and wouldnt latch on. it just wasnt for me and him. each baby is different as well; you need to see how you and your baby do, and how it works. good luck and best wishes!! congrats too!

I gained 44 pounds with my pregnancy and at my 6 week check up I had already lost 27 of it.
As for the hang low boobies I don't know yet, but I imagine it would. As prepregnancy I've gained weight and lost weight, you can notice a difference in their fullness. But I've got big ole boobies so everything is always more noticeable when it comes to them.
