Because we've been watching TV shows and movies our whole lives depicting women getting spoiled rotten by their men, and now that we're old enough - we want the same thing. Every woman wants the fairy tale. A man who WANTS to buy us presents and flowers for no reason, a man who INSISTS on picking up the check after every meal, and a man who KNOWS that his lady needs to be treated like a princess. (In an ideal world, at least =)

I would challenge your perception of 'most females'. Most of my women friends want a man who is caring, compassionate, a good listener and responsible. He doesn't have to be rich, just capable of living within his means and financially responsible with the income he has. I'd much rather be with someone who really cares about me as a person than someone who simply pays my way but doesn't connect with me on a personal level. That said, if he happens to be both a caring man and a rich man I wouldn't let the money stand in the way!

First, I think that this is a stereotype based on the fact that there are a lot of gold-diggers, but more often I think there are women out there looking for genuine guys (money or not).
For those gold-diggers, I think they want rich guys to make them secure and give them what they want since they are materialistic. Personally, I think that if a guy dates a girl like this, then he can't complain because he put himself in that position.

The reasons vary. For some, to prove they can get a successful man, for others it is so they can be spoiled, not have to work etc. Every woman on some level wants to be taken care of.

They grew with the fantasy and fairy tales: a handsome prince on a white horse sweeping them off their feet and live in a castle happy thereafter. There are no storybooks about a jobless bum, are there? All girls think they deserve everything.

I challenge your use of "MOST FEMALES". Most females just want a great guy. If he's rich then that is just icing on an already SWEET cake.

Because they can't take care of them self. They need a boy with money to take care of them and buy there stuff.
