I've been having contractions at five minute intervals for four days, now. I went to the hospital, and they sent me home, saying that my cervix wasn't changing.

... So, now, we wait.

How long is this going to happen? I've barely slept in three days, and these contractions HURT.

I still haven't lost my mucous plug, and my water hasn't broken. Someone, PLEASE, tell me how to get this baby out!!!

If they're waiting for cervical changes, I would recommend sex (though it might be hard if you're having painful contractions). The prostaglandins in semen are supposed to help ripen the cervix. All the other tricks I know are to start contractions, which you clearly don't need.

It won't stay in there forever. I hate to say it, but try to be patient.

You poor girl, I was there too. I was the exact same way. Do not wait for your water to break or for your body to lose your mucus plug... You might have a long wait. My water had to be broken. What I suggest you to do, is have sex or try to as painful as it is - Sorry. This will help thin you out. Your doc can induce your labor. Most won't until you are full-term preggy because insurance comapnies run everything now. Hang in there. Remember as miserable as you are - labor will be 100 times worse. The baby is well worth any pain you have. I look at my little boy every day and see how beautiful he is. He completed my life. It is worth it girlfriend, hang in there!

Awww hun. *Sits with you*
I had the same sort of thing. I was technically in labour for 50 hours lol! You wont be pregnant forever. I kept getting told to come back when the contractions are so close and hurt so much that I cant talk. I eventually went there with my bags packed and said to them "This BURNS please do something" and refused to leave... but I was 41.3 weeks. They had to induce me in the end.
There isnt many options to getting the baby out I'm afraid! He/She will come when they are ready. But if you really are that sore and uncomfortable then you should go back and really express how your feeling to them. See if there is anything at all you can try without risking infection to the baby.

Hehehehe...I had this huge fear that I'd be dragging around my belly with a 20 year old living inside it.
And the contractions usually get worse as they progress.
You may not lose your mucous plug until delivery.
Sometimes they have to break your water for you.
Sorry there isn't a set standard for labor and delivery.

Have you tried walking up and down stairs? I would do that and make your husband/boyfriend/baby's father have sex with you everyday. I am 37 weeks and 6 days and I had sex last week everyday for 3 days even though it was uncomfortable. I went to the doc and I had dialted a whole centimeter and effaced 30%!!! That was in only 6 days. Try it. I truly believe it works. Someone told me to open a bunch of jars that were hard to twist. I thought it sounded silly, but I may try that later.

i might save an eye fixed on whilst they're comming and how long they final and so on. attempt getting up and shifting around, authentic labour pains will proceed and get closer mutually and longer with extra discomfort. fake labour will end with stream or decelerate. Is it feasible which you have coronary heart burn (indegestion)? perhaps attempt some tums as nicely to be sure is this helps. yet whilst it doubt bypass in and get checked. solid success and congratulations to you. only needed to function that each and every guy or woman is diverse and the books are only a guidance. with my final and third being pregnant my contractions on no account have been given universal and can final for as long as they needed (some the place 10 minutes aside and a few the place 2 minutes aside and so on) you will understand that it truly is time have confidence me.

During the day you should walk and do housework as much as possible, and when your husband gets home, have sex, i know that you may be too uncomfortable for this but the male sperm is natures way of helping your cervix along. Drink lots of water and just be as active as you can handle. Good luck!

To be honest ther isn't alot you can do, try to keep upright as this will allow the head to sit on the cervix and hopefully dialate it!!- but I know how tempting it is to lye down when your in pain ( try a squating postion) a lot of people will tell you to keep active....but seeing as you not sleeping etc...I would conserve your energy for your labour.

If all else fails, try stimulating your breasts ( nipple stimulation) helps to contract the uterus, just like your expressing milk.....get your birth partner to look it up on the enet for you.

Goodluck

Do what you did to get the baby in there...have sex! The prostoglandin (sp?) in semen helps soften the cervix. Having an orgasm on your behalf is known to help as well. Staying stress-free and calm will help labor progress.
