Can I, within an intranet, hold a netmeeting with somebody from a different company to demo something? If so, how would we establish the meeting? Thanks!

Holding a NetMeeting outside your company network is possible but generally company networks aren't setup in a way to support it. Often companies have firewalls that block it. If this is a small company, their routers probably are setup to ignore incoming traffic by default.

To initiate a NetMeeting call if the network conditions are OK, the host would simply start NetMeeting and provide those connecting with the IP address. Note that the IP address will likely be the public IP address and you'd need to setup forwarding on the router to the specific internal IP address of your desktop.

An alternative to this would be to use an online net meeting like service.
