I've been on birth control for 3 months and I started on a Sunday, which happened to be the day I got my period. I was told I wouldn't have my period on a weekend if I was a Sunday start but my periods have been coming on a Thursday and lasting until Sunday/Monday after. I was wondering, since today is Thursday and I started this morning, is there any way I can reset my cycle by taking my first pill of the new pack today instead of continuing with my placebo? When will I be fully protected if this is the case?

You can start your new pack however many days earlier you think you need to so you can avoid a weekend, my dr said it wouldn't hurt me. I'm pretty sure you'd be covered if you start your new pack when your period starts but it never hurts to use backup just in case.

yes, you can reset and be protected. It may take a day or so for the bleeding to stop, but its perfectly safe. I used to skip the placebo if I had a big weekend planned and my period was gonna ruin it, I did it for my honeymoon too!

Sorry, but I just have to say this, why do people want to mess with nature like this? You have a 28 day cycle normally. When you start to mess with it, then you increase your chances for pregnancy and other hormonal side effects. We are such a 'ME' society, we want our bodies to cooperate with our lives. It's just so difficult for an adult like me to understand it.
