I have to read it for my English 12 class and I just can't seem to get hooked into the book at all.

Go live in Cuba and you will find its total meaning. You will feel it in your marrow

I read it in a Master's level English class and hated it. It was like pulling teeth. It was absolutely boring and afterwards, I had to write a paper on it. Then I realised that Orwell wrote it in 1948 and it was like he was writing it in 1998. Did you know that's where they got the whole concept for the series "Big Brother"? Read it, suffer through it, and while you do, consider that Orwell was writing that book almost 60 years ago.

I wouldn't read it again, but I actually recommend it to people who believe in "conspiracy theories".

I don't find much boring at all in life, but I found the chapters that go on and on with the stuff about the Brotherhood or whatever it was called almost mind numbing.

We had to read that in school too. I found it to be soooo boring. I had to make myself read it. The movie is even boring too. I don't think that I made a very good grade on that project at all. Even though it is a classic, it still bites.

Yeah I know everyone raves about it but I think it's the concept and idea behind it that's interesting. Put on paper though I found it hard to get into.

I read it and yes, I did find it boring...but it was simple reading so just stick with it and get through it. What I tried to do is relate it to things that are happening around us in this world now....that might help.

Me, I hated it.

I really love Animal Farm though. But 1984, I just didn't like.

Yes it's boring as hell. Even the movie is boring. The year was pretty cool though I had a blast!
