wear tights or stockings? what type, denier, colour, how often and why?

Some do, I'm sure. I would imagine they would do so, either because of preference or because they are required to do so. (I know of some establishments that still require their female employees to wear stockings.) Since they would be working in a business setting, I would imagine that they would either wear nude-colored stockings or those of some other conservative color.

Your question is legitimate on the topic of courtroom etiquette. There is no rule about what type of hosiery a lady lawyer is supposed to use. They are to dress in business attire. They should always look professional. If the lady chooses to use a dress or skirt instead of slacks, then some form of leg wear is appropriate. It should not be gaudy or unprofessional. Keep it conservative. Each judge may have a slightly different standard for the attorneys that practice in his/her courtroom. Check with your local court before deciding. Talk to other attorneys that practice there to know what the judges expect.

What a question.It is like asking females in general their hosiery favourites. Whart is different about female lawyers to females in general.Do they have some sort of code they have to adhere to?Are they not allowed to be bare legged or is that taboo in a court of law.Are they allowed to wear trouser suits or must they wear skirts?Even if a particular lawyer wore tights one day there is no guarantee she might not wear stockings the next. Also the gauge and colour could vary from day to day. I find this a rather silly question honestly.

Why just female lawyers.
From what I've heard about the behaviour of male judges tights and stockings are part of the daily life of lawyers.
