something with the whole works- like a full orchestra, strings, percussion and the works and pop/rock metal at the same time, with meaningful lyrics that I can relate to.
a voice has to be involved and it must be in English,
and it has to be live with me in the audience.
a few near hit examples are:
Oasis, wonderwall, and dont look back in anger,
Tori Amos- little earth quakes, bliss and professional widow (there are also others but cant think of their names right now).
Annie Lennox, Bare album when performed live,
Muse- again when performed Live,
Rufus Wainwright, much of the last two or three albums,
West end show Wicked,
Coldplay, the Killers, Keane....
cant think of anymore right now but its safe to say the list grows and grows with my mood and with each months new releases and gigs.
I love most classical music such as Mozart, Contemporaty stuff such as Simon Rattle pop stuff like Gwen Staffani and No Doubt, and think the only stuff I dislike are things where the style or who the main singer is override the music and whatever is sung, e.g I cant stand beyonce, shakira, puff daddy or whatever he decides to use to describe his ugly face these days, (and yes he is DOG ugly in my opinion!), and thise wierd dancers who incli=ude Aliya where I just look and think- what are you doning! that is so wierd and if I ever danced like tat in a club, I'd have people passingme potties as she looks like shes about to have her legs cave in and keeps going at her groin like shes my 2 year old niece who is trying to say "mummy I need the toilet"! and thats enough for me to turn myself off her music.
does any of this help you??
