Because most people under 18 care more about American Idol than American Politics. We don't need people who have no idea about how the real world works voting to effect policies. It's just part of being considered "adult." Fair to me.

Experience is necessary for wisdom. The voting age should be 30.
30 was the age of maturity in ancient Israel, and in other ancient societies.
The voting age was dropped from 21 to 18 because the Democrats know the truth of the statement "Anyone who is young and not liberal doesn't have a heart. Anyone who is mature and not conservative doesn't have a brain."
The age was dropped to 18 to give the democrats a greater chance at winning elections.
For the same reason they want to permit voting among the illegals who are socialists, and from juveniles who can be manipulated by their Liberal Union teachers.

18 is considered a legal adult. It should be raised to at least 21 (except for Military personnel). We need people to have some life experience before voting instead of what they have had crammed down their throats while living at home and in school etc.

Be glad it's 18 because back in the 70s, it was 21. I believe it's at 18 because now 18 is viewed as the age of majority.

Because those under 18 don't know enough to vote. In fact, I wish they'd raise the age to vote to about 35 (same age you have to be to be President). That way, voters have held jobs, paid taxes, raised children and basically experienced enough of life to make informed choices when they're at the polls.

This is something a younger person is going to reject, but at 17, they aren't a fully functional human being. From their perspective, a young person naturally believes that they are and will never agree with that statement, but if you ask them again when they are 30, they'll all tell you that it's true.

Because teenagers have more homones than brains and can't be trusted to vote for the worthiest candidate - hah, like anyone else much older can, either.

A professor (or lookalike) on TV last night said our frontal lobes don't develop until our mid-twenties - we not being able to think straight until then, apparently.
