People are suspicious of those that appear more intelligent than them. It's easier to just marginalise liberal thinking than objectively and rationally approach it.

Hate is to strong a word, first off they (libs) are not worth that much effort, second, you say they are peace loving and kind and tolerant of everything, then tell me who is going to protect you and provide a safe haven for you to do your thing when some other "society" comes along and says they want your space ??? As for job exports, try thinking (if you can) about your very own unions, yes the one that protects your job for you when your a thief or a malcontent are plain old good for nothing worker. And where is it written that just because you work for a company they have to not only pay you a decent wage, but provide ALL your health care, give you baby sitting service etc, all this at no cost to you ? and oh by the way, still make a profit so they can stay in business to give you all the afore mentioned perks ...........Just wondering.

Actually you are incorrect about the No Child Left Behind program. The program was started by (D) Lyndon B Johnson under his "Great Society" legislation in 1965. The name has changed many times over the years. So yes it was a liberal idea. The rest pretty much has to do with personal responsibility. Liberals want to help people ON to social programs. Conservatives want to help people OFF of social programs, so they can better themselves. Liberals claim family values etc, but are willing to take a human life (abortion).
I don't hate, because hatred is self punishment.

Because some Liberals like to post inflammatory questions, and believe they are far more mature than the rest of the world, I dislike some of them.
When people generalise such as you just have they actually do more harm to the side they are attempting to protect. I am guessing as soon as the allotted 4 hours have passed you will choose the answer that says "Liberals are great, the opposition is just nasty and immature".
Its quite funny, because this is an existing example of the question I asked earlier and you answered only worded differently. Thank you for the opportunity to possibly make you understand the point of that previous exercise. Good luck.

First of all, I don't agree with liberals on many fronts but I don't hate them. They have the right to believe what they want and I have the right to disagree. I do take issue with your description of a liberal though. Most conservatives are also peace loving, understanding, tolerant, and educated. They typically are more for family values than liberals are. I also believe that most Americans have those qualities. It seems to me the problem is the 15% or so that are so out there, they irritate everyone to no end. Usually their M.O. is name calling and finger pointing. I think it is necessary to have both liberals and conservatives in this country, that way when we compromise, which most of us could (both libs and cons), we keep ourselves from pushing too far to one side. I liken it to sailing a boat, you don't want to list to far to either side, for once you do, the wreck is imminent.

First off, I do not hate liberals. In all honesty, I kind of feel sorry for them. I mean you kind of have to pity someone that truly believes that high taxes and government handouts are the secret to successful government.
Anyways I will take your claims one at a time
Peace loving - true Lieberals want peace, so do the conservatives. Even the military wants peace. The problem is that if you want peace you have to fight for it. It is the pacifist that gets beat up by the bullies of life. The problem isn't that liberals are not peace-loving, the problem is they aren't willing to fight for it. So who wants peace more? The liberal that doesn't want it bad enough to fight or the conservative who is?
Understanding - Do you understand why I believe the way I do? I understand why you believe what you believe. I don't agree with it but I do understand. This is why I do not hate liberals but feel sorry for them. I truly understand where they are coming from.
Tolerant - OK, this is where I'm going to get a thumbs down. Please explain how tolerance is a good thing. Should I be tolerant of people that want to teach my children that I am immoral? Should I be tolerant of the pimps and the drug dealers? Should I be tolerant of the terrorists that want nothing more than to see this country that I love burn to the ground? If my son disrespects his mother, should I tolerate that? If my daughter wants to become a prostitute, should I just accept it?
Tolerance and political correctness will be the downfall of our society. If you say that I should tolerate one immoral action such as homosexuality, then who's to say I shouldn't tolerate some other immoral action such as pedophilia? After all you shouldn't discriminate based on a person's sexual orientation. That is a liberal teaching. That is the evil of tolerance.
Tolerance is the virtue of a man without convictions. Note that 1 Corinthians 13 does not list tolerance as one of the attributes of Love.
Educated - Yes many liberals are educated. But where are they educated? Are they educated in fine arts or business? Psychology or economics? Social sciences or life? If liberalism is the path of the enlightened, then why is it the majority of the Democratic voters are lower class? Ever notice how hard it is to find a hgih school drop out that votes Republican or Libertarian?
I'm not saying that liberals are uneducated or even unintellegent. I'm saying that they're poorly educated. They are not taught the truth. Liberals, for the most part, don't know how the economy works or how money is made. This is not their fault. They simply haven't been taught it. I have 2 degrees in business and I was never taught these things in school.
Family Values - Exactly what values is it that liberals support? I know they teach the "value" of tolerance but you all ready know what I think about that. But doesn't any other value kind of contradict tolerance? If my family values include teaching that marriage is between a man and a woman you don't support that. If my family values Christianity then I am intolerant and liberals do not support those values. If my family's values include standing up for your beliefs then I am intolerant and liberals do not support my family values. If I teach that there is such a thing as right and wrong then I am intolerant and liberals do not support my family values. If I teach that there is anything that is not to be tolerated then I am intolerant and liberals do not support my family values. If my family values life and I believe that abortion is wrong then I am intolerant and liberals do not support my family values. So tell me which family values do liberals support?
Programs for the Poor - (time for more thumbs down) I'll try to abreviate this but for a more complete understanding of my feelings on this topic check out http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AkvB2vfeBWFiNK8059JbBzXty6IX?qid=20070324105242AAoMH7S&show=7#profile-info-AA12388467 and http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AqJqi.omSh5UiiCZDREOkjvty6IX?qid=20070403101713AARoHK2&show=7#profile-info-AA10616045
But in short social programs encourage people to stay in poverty and they punish people that are above the povety line by raising taxes to pay for the people that refuse to work.
Now I will admit that I have used WIC at times, but if it hadn't been available then my kids would've been fine as I would've found another way to feed them for the one month it took me to find another job. Social programs for the poor really are unnecessary. People will find a way to feed their kids. They will get anoher job or ask for help from a church or other charitable organization.
I value personal responsibility (another family value that liberals disagree with). I believe that you and you alone are responsible for you.
Out of curiosity can anyone point me to chapter and verse where Jesus gave money to a begger? He healed them so that they could go and work and earn their own way but I don't recall him ever giving a begger money.
What is the threat of Liberalism? - In short, Socialism and the lack of personal freedoms. Higher crime, plummeting economy, increased divorce, increased poverty, higher suicide rate, lower church attendance across the board (Jew, Muslim, and Christian denomonations), higher teen pregnancy, delcining quality of medical care, increased terror attacks, more illegal aliens, destablized family structure, increased unemployment, more homeless, child starvation, lower standard of living, reduced life expectancy, lower educational standards, weaker military, and finally the collapse of the American government.
Admitidly these are extreems but that is the danger. Just look at North Korea or the old Soviet Union and tell me how good the liberal ideas work in real life.

well,
Liberals are not peace loving. Stalin, Mao, Lenin, Ho Chi Min, Hitler, and all the great liberal secularists of the 20th are hardly peace loving, understanding, tolerant.
Liberals are not for family values, as all you need to look to is the current state of black families in America. Black America surrendered itself to the care of modern liberalism, and 75% of black children grow up without a father.
Social programs encourage despondancy and discourage rising above yourself. I have lost my job several times, and never once accepted government funded welfare.
I do not trust government. The private sector has proven time after time after time after time that it is capable of responding to needs better and faster than the government.
Liberals believe in taking my wealth and property for the common good, but define that common good as a nanny would and not as a soldier. The job of government is to stop us from killing one another, stop foreigners from killing us, and to make sure those who break the rules are punished. That is it. I value liberty too much to let the libs take it from me.

Liberals are all about taking no personal responsiblity for anything. Always depending on the government to babysit them. They are hypocritcal and incompentent. They may have a higher education, but that obviously does not guarantee having any common sense.

People tend to dislike extreme Liberals and extreme Conservative because they are either too out there or too backwards.
I like the middle of the two.
