WHY have the American people ALLOWED the Government to slowly take our right to privacy away? GPS- general people search. Cell phones- Human tracking devices. Home Security systems- track peoples commings and goings. ALL in the name of "protection". They have preyed on peoples fears which is strange since for centuries, until these things were invented people survived just fine. So why have we allowed them take our privacy away?

To All asking if I'm a terrorist/afiliated w/a T-group NO I AM NOT IN ANY WAY.
Another point All they have to do is put your name, SS#, or address even (your phone lines, cell phone records containing everything you've said are kept on record) into a computer and they know anything about you. If anyone wants they can buy equipment and sit a block away and here everything you are saying. We are told lies to suit what they want to accomplish.CRIMINAL OR NOT you ARE being looked at(just incase)!!! Don't believe it go to --PUSHBURGER.com and check it out for yourselves. everything you do on a computer is checked out by your servers. WHY is it so hard to believe?? As for the Gov't employee things have been kept from you. I HAVE read/watched enough about ww2 to know what I'm talking about. I had 2 grandfathers serve. This war we're currently in stems from promises made during the russia/afganistan war that we would help rebuild. When the war was over what did we do? pulled out.

I think this is a serious question that more people should be asking. The majority of the answers that have been previously given should shed some light on it....apathy. We now think we cannot live without "technology" and gladly accept it without establishing parameters so it cannot be used to invade oue privacy. Today on NPR (national public radio) it was announced that the first human has been microchipped with medical records. This is WAY to much big brother and if you are christian (not trying to open up that debate, however) one step closer to the predictions of revelations. All technologhy that we accept daily for the enrichment of lives can be used to take that enrichment away. Think movie cameras: it is great to film a childs first steps but do we need the goverment recording the daily steps that we take in public? Just to make us "feel" safer. None of us are any safer as a result of technology just lured into a false sense of security! Great question!

I'm curious....how is it the governments fault that YOU decided to purchase a cellphone with GPS? How is it the governments fault that someone decides to protect their home with a video surveillance system? Like one blogger stated in their comment about a movie camera taking home videos of a childs first steps....how in the world and WHY does the government use that camera to their advantage? Oh I get it...they have a long A/V cord attached to the CIA Headquarters so they can hear a mom and dad comment upon how cute their child is...right?
People complain that the police aren't doing their jobs so they employ the use of systems to monitor high crime areas without resorting to hiring more officers since the taxpayer doesn't want to pay higher taxes! How is that violating your "right to privacy" when you, an upstanding citizen of the community aren't doing anything wrong to start with?
Are you thinking about cameras at intersections that photograph a traffic violation when someone runs a red light? How is that a violation of your right to privacy? Better yet...what gives someone the right to endanger others by disregarding a safety device. Over 250,000 people are killed or injured when someone wrecks after running a red light. Again...sounds to me like the "government" is trying to make up for a lack of tax dollars to hire more police.
Oh wait....maybe I'm infringing upon your right to break the law! Sorry...but my rights to driving on safe streets outweigh the rights of traffic violators who take my life in to THEIR hands!
Now...I'm a "government" employee that YOU'VE accused of "preying upon peoples fears." Explain to me what I've done to "prey upon your fears."
I'm also curious to know what it is that makes you think I'm using your own technology to monitor you!
As for your comment to "Mellisa" about the A-bomb technology. If you cared to read a little about history during WWII against the Japanese...it was well known after Iwo Jima that hundreds of thousands of lives would be lost when we entered the mainland of Japan. That doesn't include the number of Japanese casualties. Despite what some may THINK...the use of the A-bomb saved more lives than you or I could imagine! Additionally, it brought the war to an expedited end.
I think the solution to your "issue" is...if you don't like the technology....don't buy it! I also think that if you rationally rethink your question...you'd be stumped if asked to come up with one example of how YOUR privacy has been invaded by the government when the only issue I've seen in your comment/question deals with private enterprise and NOTHING to do with the government!

It is funny I just traveled internationally and don't feel like I lost an ounce of privacy. There was nothing wrong with the searches - I enjoyed flying on a plane I felt was safe. Those who believe their privacy is lost are political hacks for the extreme right or the political opposition of our existing administration. They can't even point to a legitimate privacy lost.

No, it extremely isn't any longer an invasion of privateness. a good type of places of corporation have recording contraptions in recent times (eg. corner shop, gas station, department stores, ATMS, and so on.) to dodge robbery, suited? properly, the belief is comparable to a consequence different than it extremely is getting used to deter human beings from breaking the regulation through dashing and doubtlessly hurting/killing others.

You are so right. Let's go down clutching to our privacy. We sure don't want anyone knowing where we are. So we may die in an attack at least we died without anyone knowing where we are. And we survived--well except the ones that died in unmonitored organized crime, unmonitored gang violence, and unmonitored terrorist activity. YES! let the Fort Dix Six and the likes continue as long as I have my privacy.

Because of these new inventions it's more accessible for them now. These inventions make it easier for them to find information about you. Where back in the older days these inventions were not accessible for them to use. So it made it harder to track you down and find out any information.
