I only work three days a week. I get my bills paid on time and I live alone. I'm not struggling but everytime I tell people that work so little they say why dont you work more. But I dont want to work more right now. What should I tell them?

Honestly, in this case, I would answer a question with a question:

"Gee, I never considered that. So you enjoy working more hours than I do per week?"

I think they'll see the dumb nature of their question and leave it (and you) alone.

BTW: Congrats to you for excellent money management, for living a simpler life, and for doing something that we all essentially wish we could do!

Ultimately it would be none of their business. If you are happy by working only 3 days a week, then that's that. Maybe they are jealous by the fact that you are not struggling, you are responsible, and you don't have to work as hard as them. You don't have to justify yourself for what makes you happy =)

Why does it really matter what they say? If you are happy with your financial and employment situations, don't bother explaining anything to them. Why work more if you don't have to. There may be a time when you will need to so enjoy yourself now.

I work only 3 days a week and love it! It's jealousy.

You should tell them "what, are you jealous?"

I would love to work only a few days a week so I can have more time for my boyfriend, family and personal errands. I think you are so lucky!

Not everything in this world is about money and routine, it might sound cheesy but spending time with your family and with yourself actually makes you a happier person.

If your bills are getting paid on time - then you're working enough to suit you. Just tell them that you don't NEED to work more hours.

This is your business. Why do you feel the need to have to explain this to people?

If you feel you must tell them anything, just tell them you're happy with the hours you work and leave it at that.

Just say you're getting by okay, and do not have a need for more time to work. As long as you are happy, that's all that matters. Enjoy it!

Just tell them that right now you are happy and can focus on yourself without being overworked and overstressed, like them.

EVENTUALLY you may want to work more to save money instead of living month-to-month.

You tell them just that. That you don't want to work more and what you make working that schedule is enough to live comfortably.

It's not really anyone elses business. If your bills are paid and you're not struggling financially...I wouldn't even bother to discuss it with anyone else.
