The study, understanding, and/or implementation of physical phenomena.

In other words, physics relates to mass (matter) and energy, and all the variations (like weight, force, power, velocity, time, etc.) of these.

By the way, I am a firm believer in using a standard English dictionary for definitions of English words. Definitions by other sources, often written by technical people rather than lexicographers, tend to be arcane, inconsistent, and, frequently, incorrect. In other words, for definitions, stick with the real experts...the dictionaries.
