Is this Series pre-written or are they just making it up as they go along??

JJ Abrahams has stated the series will end after the 2009-2010 seasons. He has said that he has known from the beginning where he is going and what the story is. But because he had no idea how long he had to make the story last (3 years, 5 years, 10 years) he was having problems pacing it out. So he made the decision that the series would end after its fifth season.
As to all the rest, your guess is as good as mine.

There are 48 more episodes or so. I read that by 2010 the show will end.
