this is a basic engine for a machine that rakes bunkers at a golf course.

its not starting

12 volts in the battery, 12 volts at the starter, 12 volts at the keyswitch/ignition and the fuses arent blown.

any advice on the next direction i should go to?

its not trying to crank at all by the way its not doing anything if that helps at all

do an amp load test on the battery.Battery may not have enough cranking amps.

Place your volt meter in the battery with the engine running. Red to positive black to negative. The voltage should be 13.5 -13.8 volts. If not the charging system is not working properly.

If it turns over fast enough, but does not start, check coil and spark plug including plug wire. If it does not turn over, check the solenoid.

change the muffler.

really, nobody here can fix it, only suggest crazy parts replacement... better take it to a good small engine shop.
