If this was actually a glimpse into the future, why was he talking about his dad like he was alive? Was he just that messed up?

The "Christians dead, and Jack was messed up" theories are well taken, but how many times have we thought Mikial was dead? Not to mention the miracles that happened with Locke and the Kwons. His body wasn't in the coffin and the island does seem to be selectively forgiving.

I was wondering that same exact thing. I am so confused, it almost has to be a glimpse of his future because Kate ended up being there and he was divorced from Sara. But his dad had already been dead. Or did the island somehow bring his dad back since his body landed there??? Who knows...I'm sure it will all be answered next year.

I think that we only have 2 options here:
1 - Jack is so high he either doesn't remember that his dad is dead, or is playing for sympathy
or
2 - When Jack saw his father on the island he really had been brought back to life (or was never truely dead) - rememeber Jack found an empty casket on the island.
My real quandry is what happened to Jack to make him turn out like this? AND is it INEVITABLE? I don't want that furture for Jack. I want him to get his happily ever after with Kate.

that's as quickly as they are rescued from the island. Jack meets with Kate and tries to convince her that they might desire to return to the island and that they have got been meant to be there. Jack is going directly to tell Kate that he's so desirous to return to the island that he takes a airplane flight each and every friday evening in the desire that it will crash and he would be decrease back to the island. Kate is happy together with her life and has no want to ever return to her life on the island.

i couldnt say it any better then terri. the doctor was just baffled when jack says "if im more drunk then my father then you can fire me"
and Jack pretty much said forget it and went on a little tantrum when the pharmacist wanted to verify the perscription for his dad
unless lost pulls another 180, jack was probably too drugged up

I originally thought that myself *and posted it a few times*, but now I look at it this way:
Jack was pretty plastered when he tried to fill his script....mentioning his father as being alive would have made sence if the alcohol was doing the talking.

Yeah, I was wondering about that too! Remember how he found his coffin though, and his dad wasn't in it? I don't know that show has become such a muddle of info. Also who died? I was confused and disappointed with this season.

Who knows what they have planned for future shows. For all we know, the survivors got back and Jack found his dad alive and well. You know it's possible.

Christian is dead.
Notice the 'wtf' look on the doctors face as Jack mentions his father. and the reaction Jack had when the pharmacist wanted to verify the prescription.
