I tried to email from a website. It does it with all website that have a place that says email to a friend. Does that help in deciphering the problem? I HAD yahoo instant message installed but it was a royal pain popping up every startup of my computer, and it slowed my boot time down with the nonsense. I don't NEED IM.

Just a guess, but are you using the free version of Yahoo? Is your computer configured to use Outlook or Outlook Express?

Unless your computer is configured properly, I don't think you can take advantage of those handy little "email to a friend" links.

You can, however, send a link to your friend that has a link to the desired site.
- Right-click in the address bar of the page you want your friend to see.
- Choose Copy from the list.
- Open your e-mail composition window and create a message to your friend
- In the message body, right-click and choose Paste and the web address will appear as a link.

Yahoo has other ways of inserting links, but copy & paste is real easy.

Download and install Yahoo Messenger. With the package that comprises Yahoo Messenger will be other Yahoo Tools that make your Yahoo Mail your Default Email Client program and this will fix your problem. Be sure to answer yes to making Yahoo your Default Mail when or if asked during the installation process.

there is very little data here to go on...email to a friend from what? an IM client? a site?

if I had to guess, I'd say that it's looking for an e-mail client that's not on your computer or, if it's from yahoo messenger, try re-installing it.

if you could provide more information, it would be easier to help solve.

Best of Luck!
