I never had this problem. But, I know a man that bought a "Ferret" and he say it got rid of the snakes. I thought they would run off being loose outside, but, I guess in time they like a dog.
I found you a link that seems good on Ferrets. At the bottom are some Organizations and some have a phone number. You could try calling and asking about using a Ferret to kill snakes. But, some people many never know what I tell of, I just know this man did it. He may have put the Ferret up at night or only allowed it outside when he was around. Years ago we had 3 and they did go outside, but, only when we were with them.

Have you cleaned up the surrounding property to the pond? Any lose debris, thick brush, boards or out buildings are places that attract snakes. Without a place to hide during the hot afternoon and early evening they won't stay. I assume they only use the pond in the less heated hours of the day and are not out swimming when it is high noon? Try a property sweep.. Even the pond won't keep them if there is no other cool shelter for them. Good luck.

Those would be garter snakes. They love water. They will probably eat your fish, so call a snake resucer to relocate. Please don't kill them though. They are good for the environment.
