We will be going to Orlando in late June but I have read so many reviews on various hotels that I'm now confused. Would like a 4 star or better. Minimum hassles, suite type, for when I take a nap while my 7yr plays in another room. Activities for kids onsite would be fantastic. Only going to WDW, animal kingdom, sea world maybe Universal. One day trip to Port Richey to see my Grandma.

I've considered staying on the property, anyone have recent experience there? Two adults one hyper 7 year old boy!

All of the Disney resorts are great, you really can't go wrong with them. However, the suites can be kind of high, so I'm not sure how much you are wanting to spend. All of the monorail hotels are great, Grand Floridian, Polynesian and Contemporary are my favorite. However, I also really like Yacht and Beach Club as well as Boardwalk.

The 2br suites at the resorts are going to be pretty expensive (for example around $2000 a night), if you are able to spend the money they are fantastic. However, if you want to save a little money I would check into the villas (they run as little as $600 or so a night), they are very nice as well.

I'm going to include a website that includes information on all of the resorts. That will be a good place to start since it gives so much information. This will also give you an idea of price. That would be a good start.

If you have any questions after looking over the website feel free to e-mail me and I will be glad to help. I go to Disney all the time and just got back a few days ago from my most recent trip.

You might want to consider the Yacht and Beach Club. Their two bedroom suite has a great view and the pool can't be beat. Our kids, ages 9 and 7, say it is the best around. The water slide is fun, there is sand on the bottom, a lazy river and a whirlpool. The resort is within walking distance of Epcot and the Boardwalk. By the way, the Boardwalk Inn has a super water slide too.
I will tell you our experience is that it is best to stay on property. It is so convenient to be on the monorail stops and to be able to take a ferry or walk to the parks.

The perfect place to stay and have a quiet room to nap is one of the Disney Vacation Club resorts such as Wilderness Lodge, Old Key West, Saratoga Springs, Boardwalk, or Beach Club, and book a 1 bedroom villa. You can get a 2 or 3 bedroom villa but the price would be higher and for 3 people a 1 bedroom is perfect.

Disney does have kids clubs for a charge. They are at some of the different resorts, such as Polynesian, Animal Kingdom Lodge, and I believe the Boardwalk. My daughter has been to the Animal Kingdom Lodge club (Simba's Clubhouse, I believe) and she loved it!

Staying on property is most definitely worth it. You get early admission and late park hours, as well as getting to take advantage of the kids clubs. I don't believe you can take your child the the kids clubs unless you are a Disney resort guest.

And, just my personal opinion ... the Wilderness Lodge can't be beat!

I have walked through the Polynesian Hotel many times. It's nice. The food is great. Trust me, stay in a hotel off Disney Property and save hundreds of dollars. You don't have to stay in the Polynesian Hotel to enjoy it.

If you have the money go for it. We had a basic garden view room with 2 queen sized beds and got the Disney employee discount and it was still 3000. for the week!! So if you can afford a suite in peak time which will run you about 6000.0 plus for the week.

Try the Polynesian, it's a very nice place to stay.
