Go to Start - All Programs - Accessories - System Tools - System Restore and see that available restore points you have. (restore points are dates at which you can restore your computer. Those are automatically made by the computer when there is a major change in it, like a program install or you can make one manually).

Goto start, then help and support.. under "pick a task" goto "Undo changes to your computer with system restore" ... once there choose "restore my computer to an earlier time" and click next. Pick the date from the calendar that comes up that you want to restore to and hit next and then hit next again.

Your computer will shut down and then restore to the earlier time. It will take a while to reboot just wait for it. Once its restarted you should be restored to the earlier date. A dialog box will tell you if it was successful or not.

what you do is go to start, all programs, accessories, system tools, and then system restore. then choose one week from today. restart on your computer. and then a window will come up when you log in again just saying that your computer has been restored successfully from the day you choose. dont worry your personal documents wont be affected by this.

all depends if your system restore is turned on
If it is you are in luck

start > all programs > accessories > system tools > bottom is system restore

Just follow the steps to restore
You can undo it if it does not work
Pick a data that will let you ( darker color than the other dates)

you might be better to do it in safe mode
on bootup tap f5 or f8

good luck
if system restore cannot restore the computer to that date it will tell you and you can try another date
your data will remain intact
