a = velocity change / time = final velocity / time

drop = 1/2 at^2 = 1/2 final velocity * time

They give you the final velocity and the time. Multiply.

This question may have been a bit confusing since the acceleration was constant. Usually in a fall through air the model is F=m*(g-k*v), where v is the instantaneous velocity of the falling object, and k is the drag factor.
