I have the choice of a Renault Clio 1.4 dynamique or a Fiat Grande Punto 1.2 Active. Which would be the best for efficiency, power, comfort and safety?

The Clio is more powerful and has more equipment.
Both score very highly for safety - although Renault has a better track record since the mid-90s than practically any other manufacturer.
Comfort is a subjective issue, and a lot of it depends on how well the seat fits you.

clio is a better choice all round - my old punto set on fire

If I were you I`d go with the Fiat.
