I suggest 9 feet. I've heard that's a standard size, though 12 feet is good too. If you are summoning a demon or any other spirit, are you going to have a triangle? I'd suggest it. Well, you seem to know a little about Solomonic magic, but make sure you are courtious to those spirits you summon, and offer something in return, too.

It depends on what religion and tradition you follow. Each one has it's own rules and some don't even use magick circles.
Some believe that all life and everything is sacred. There's no need to create a magick circle or sacred space when you're already standing on it.

Generally speaking, your circle of protection should be large enough for you to lie down in, with your arms & legs extended. Usually a 6' circle is adequate for someone who is under 5' 10"

It depends on several factors. If the spell is Wiccan, you should look up what is required in that religion.
You also need to figure out how much space will be needed to contain the workings of the spell. If you must make something inside the circle, for instance, you need it larger. If several people need to be in there, you also need it larger.
If you are conjuring something, don't. If the thing gets lose, it will go after you first then your blood relations.

in my personal opinion. it depends on how much room you have to make your circle in, if your in an open feild, make as big as YOU feel you need, not too big as to not be able to control its power. but not to small as to restrict it either. if your alone in a room or something, big enough for you to comfortably sit, with space for your alter, charms etc. hope that has helped. blessed be x

There is no set size for any magical circle for that circle is strictly symbolic. And anyone that says those circles have to be a set size are over-whelmed by the movies they watched.............................................................. Also in truth to stand inside that magical circle cancel out your power and what ever you are trying will not work period.................. So I recomend to all those that dis-agree with me to read more...........

It depends on what you mean.
A protective circle is not a temple rite (Wiccan circle) and is not a defensive circle.
