"There is no singular, it is walrus"

Of course there is a singular. One walrus, two walruses. It is almost always correct in English to use English plurals so add "s " or "es" as required. It is never correct to use an apostrophe.

Classical plurals are fine if you know them but be careful if you don't. As you said, "cacti" can be a plural of "cactus" (as can cactuses). What, however, are the plurals of platypus, omnibus and virus?
Platypus is Greek, not Latin and so its classical plural is "platypodes" not "platypi". "Platypuses" is also correct and more common.
"Omnibus" and "virus" are Latin but they are not Latin nouns and thus do not have classical plurals. They are nouns in English and the only plurals available are English plurals thus "omnibuses" and "viruses".

Walrus is neither Latin nor Greek but a Germanic word and therefore must take an English plural.
