Not at all, it is fair that you are required to have insurance unless you are a Hilton and independently wealthy; otherwise, if you are involved in an accident, whether or not you are at fault, YOU ARE AT FAULT and will have to pay any and all damages, which could ruin you and your earning ability for the rest of your life. Do you really have an extra $100-$250 thousand hanging around? If not, you cannot afford to be without insurance!

Unfortunately, people do break the law and drive without insurance. Then, in an accident, the insured driver incurs a loss. There needs to be a way to make sure that drivers are insured. Also, banks and loan companies that loan you money to buy the car want to know that their interests are protected.

It is not only fair, but I think it is absolutely necessary. There are too many idiots driving without insurance. It protects all of us.

If you are responsible enough to own and drive a car, then you should be responsible enough to have insurance.

Get hit by someone who is driving without insurance one time, then see if you don't change your mind about it being fair.

yes.. they have interfered in the free markets with making it mandatory to drive a car. they have over night created a overlord for us so you can drive and be killed anyway buy anything or anyone and insurance will never change that.in this life we have the god given right to be free.today we have the government mandated obligation to be safe, which cant be promised to you anyways.insurance is no substitution for Gods provision, and gives people a false sense of safety that cant be granted by man.

It is a law. You must keep your vehicle insured at all times. In order to get tags, you have to prove you have insurance. Yes, it's fair. It protects you and others.

Yes it is fair. Car insurance is more than just a "good thing to have". You can do a lot of damage to life, limb, and property with a car. Howdo you expect to pay for all that damage???

The other guy said exactly what I was going to. If someone wrecked into you and they didn't have insurance then more than likely you would end up paying for their mistake, if someone gets injured then its that much worse. Thats just how it works.
