A little while ago i was on holiday in yhe far east.Whilst there i partook in a dangerous river crossing. Our guides carried out a blessing that involved splashing water on our faces 3 times as a sighn of safe passage. To my shame i did not learn enuff of the language to understand all that was said but it appears that they only believe in 1 god.The thing that bothers me is as a Rastafarian have i committed a sin by partaking in this ritual,at the same time i did ask Jah to bless and protect my guides which he did,i`m just a bit worried that i may have involved myself with science(witchcraft)

I can't see a problem. You didn't ask for safe passage they did. You also asked Ras Tafari to protect them, which is honouring your own god, isn't it? Perhaps they saw this as witchcraft and perhaps they will post on this forum also...

Personally, I can't see that a little water blessing did anyone any harm. Maybe they called a little rain down on the "Herb" and you'll get good bud this season! Either way I wouldn't let it bother you... most witchcraft is about living with the earth, science is about changing it to suit yourself. Splashing water while praying sounds a little like saying "Please, don't let me drown!"

What makes you think it was witchcraft your guides were practicing? And does it matter what label you give it? It sounds to me like your guides were caring for you and asking their God or Gods to oversee your safe passage. I would have been more bothered if they'd just left me to my own fate and not done anything at all!

Just because it's Pagan doesn't mean it's Witchcraft. I didn't know that some classify science as Witchcraft.

Sounds like it was white witchcraft which is good, all they were doing was protecting you from falling in the dangerous river. Lucky you

I am rather confused by what you said but there is nothing wrong with Witchcraft, as long as the intention is good.

The way I see it, you were respecting their beliefs which doesn't mean you are disrespecting your own.

If it bothers you so much, ask your God for forgiveness. I don't think you commited a sin though.
