i knew someone who had the social behavior of a suicidal person but wasn't suicidal, she was doing it to get attention. Someone has just got to teach suicidal people to reflect on life and the world as a whole instead of reflecting on themselves and how much their lives suck....they need to open their eyes and see the big picture!....but before that, get them on Prozac or some kind of medication prescribed by a psychiatrist! And give them a chance to verbally vent out their pain, anger frustration and etc. Suicide is just a selfish way out, consideriing the fact that there are millions of others who are actually struggling to stay alive this very moment.

Yes. But I had to move away due to family illness and he ended up committing suicide after I left. I still wonder when the sadness/anger/guilt will lessen.

yes, yes. i talked them through how devastated others, including me, would be. i told them that the past is just that, over and done. the future, today holds whatever you truely want it to. there is always a light at the end of the tunnel, you just have to be able to see it, or if you cant, trust in powers greater than you.
good luck with this, this is very hard.

Yes, I've had to a few times.

Yes, it worked.

Basically you just tell them you are there for them and that it'll all be okay. There's no real set thing you can say, though, you've got to take into consideration their situation and just try to help them make the best of it.

Yes, but I can't really remember it was all a blur, I just remember watching him try to hang himself from a tree, cutting the rope and crying. He survived and he is much better now.

No I haven't. I'm not sure how to reach someone who thinks they want to die by their own hand. Prayer is the best weapon I know.
