We know that time travel is possible since an object traveling at high speeds ages more slowly than a stationary one. If you were to travel into space and return moving at light speed, you could travel into the Earth's future. It may be hard to build a machine, but granted it is possible for forward time motion.
Backward time motion has another problem all together. There are so many paradoxs to backward time motion like altering your own existance and what not. But granted, there are equations proving time travel. The only thing left is the machine itself. And maybe knowing what to take with you. Smiles!

i think there is such a thing as time travel. it is theoretically possible with physics using the general and special theories of relativity which i don't understand but basically says that if you can travel faster than light, you can travel back in time. i agree that no one can travel in time right now but who's to say in the future we can't invent a way.
there are people working on time travel. Dr. Ron Mallett at UConn is currently doing research on time travel. I learned about him from a great episode of the radio show 'This American Life' which describes why and how he got into researching wormholes and ultimately time travel. It's pretty cool!

Technically, if you look far enough in the universe, you can see the universe as it was a few billion years post-Big Bang . The speed of light has some relation to time, as evidenced by these visions of the universe's earliest days being several light-years away.
If you look at the fact that the universe may not be topologically flat - do we have a linear universe? Do we have a spherical universe? Do we have a hyperbolic universe? - time travel, in a sense, is possible.

Most tend to agree with you.
Although if we could WORM hole across the universe we would arrive at stars and see things thousands of years before Earth Sees them
We could also see our own Sun as it was a million years ago.
That's a form of time travel.
IT's not practical nor obtainable, but it is theoretically possible.

If you are saying time travel is absurd, only fiction and does not exist, I agree with you.

Time travel is possible, we are all traveling forward in time 1 second at a time.
