Is there a way to see if the e-mail is valid or not?

sure... send email to it. if it bounces back to you with an error message then it is not valid.

Just send an email and see if it bounces back.
There can be a spam filter or hotmail allows a delete automatically (block) list.
However most people are not too thorough to cover their tracks.
Send a simple email.
If it bounces back then you know for sure that the account does not exist.
You can set up a free email account of your choice if you do not want to let on that is you or keep your email secret

Other then sending an email and seeing if bounces back, I can't think of one.

and you can check emails online quickly.
