you would probably need a liner of some kind, as they need to be able to drain after you water them.

Get a liner pot. The watering will ruin the copper or brass pots.

What about drainage???? Without drainage you'll end up rotting the roots.

Plant into a liner pot that you can lift out, pour out the excess water. Your plants will grow better and your pots won't corrode.

Use a liner, copper in a high enough concentration will kill plants (copper sulfate is sometimes used as an algaecide in aquariums) so it is better safe than sorry.
