You have a source of cold dry air (Canada), a source of warm, moist air (Gulf of Mexico) and a huge, unbroken plain without any mountains to interrupt the weather patterns.

The mid-continent is what does it. There are very few places like it in the world. Where it does exist (Russian steppes) there is no large body of warm water to the south.

Europe has the same northern and southern conditions but huge mountain ranges in the middle to interrupt things.

Because all of us we are contributing to BURN the atmosphere...

Airplanes are burning, and so do ships, cars, industries, wars burning weapons that burns OUR atmosphere....

To keep us warmed in winter time, we are burning combustibles, and to make our own houses, "burning" the wild life, savannas and forests...

These are the very REAL reasons
