Spoiler alert! If you didnt watch the season finale, dont read any further!OK, last nights season finale, which had me on the edge of my couch, had flashbacks, or should I say flash forwards of Jack in the hospital. At one point when he was arguing with the new chief of staff, Jack says "get my father down here and if Im drunker than he is I'll quit" (or something along those lines). Now my question is, Isn't his father dead? I'm so confused! I don't know how Im gonna last till Feb!

Here's the obit clipping in Jacks hand, but all I see is a "J", so is it Locke or Juliet? Or someone we dont know yet? http://bp0.blogger.com/_RrObyQ3XzcY/RlUe-1YihSI/AAAAAAAAFkw/ucINFuG1jfo/s1600-h/newspaperclipping2.jpg

That's a really good point!

Who do you think the dead guy was? I think it was Ben.

If I had to guess, and in this case I have to, I'd say we're dealing with several alternate timelines. That the island somehow warps space and time and that in the timeline that is spawned when the survivors leave the island, Jack's dad never dies and that it causes a lot of bad things to happen. So Jack feels a need to go back to the island to fix things.

I just want to know who was in the casket!

I think Locke may be in the casket. Although someone on here said Ben which could be. As far as Jacks dad, perhaps he has seen him since leaving the island, although he is dead.

Woah. I didn't even think about it. Jack was delusional though, drunk as a skunk, and hopped up on Oxycodone (lucky bastard!). He could have very well been just tripping. I mean, I was trying to kill himself earlier.

Can't be Juliet because it says "Man found dead..."

When Jack mentioned his father he was drunk and high on Oxycodon, a painkiller that is seriously addicting.
My guess is that Juliet is in the casket.

I think Jack's Dad is dead.
Jack may have said it because he was so messed up on those pills. And the writers want us to go crazy, wondering what is going on.

Jack was out of his mind with what appeared to be drugs, alcohol and regret. He obviously was not thinking clearly when he blurted out that statement. Of course, this being LOST I could be completely wrong.

Wow. I've read several post-show analyses from T.V. critics, and you're the first person to have caught that! Congratulations!

That whole TV show should be renamed "Things that make you go hmmmm."

Jacks father is dead. Notice the "WTF" look on the doctor's face when Jack mentioned his father. And the reaction Jack had with the pharmacist when she was going to call to verify the prescrip.

Jack's head was totally messed up. I think he didn't know what he was saying.
