Could it be that the war isn't lost, but, that the democrats are using this a politcal ploy like their non-binding resolutions, and endless investigations?

The American public really has no idea if the war is lost on the ground or not. This is because the media has been a liberal mouthpice for years. They will only report the negitive. That is if thier is a Republican/Conservitive commander in chief. That being said.....The war is allready lost. When the enemy sees the leaders of America fighting over it. All for the Democrats politicle gain..... Then the war is lost....

Because they don't want to strand the troops without funds.

It's what is called the devil's bargain... and the person that put the troops there can blame the liberals all he wants, but they were cornered by his rhetoric and policies. Any Dem that opposed his war plans, after 9/11, was basically labeled a traitor.

Snickers--Bill tried to get the Congress to act against Osama. But the Congress was republican controlled, and they would not support his efforts. That's the actual history of it, not the version that Rush tells.

Well, ignoring your obvious ignorance, I think the reason is because our Idiot King behaved like a child (rather than a Commander in Chief), and held up our troops as a tool to further polarize America. In effect, he said, "if you care for your American troops, you will fund them."

And the Democrats betrayed the mandate of the voters by caving in to this bully tactic.

Both sides are despicable.

We need to still keep the troops safe, besides 60% of the US populace balked at "defunding" the war.

Yes, it does. Unfortunately, there are American troops in harm's way in this "victory" we've achieved in Iraq, and they need money. Money the President was willing to withhold for as long as it took for him to prove a political point to Democrats. Money the Democrats set aside their partisanship to send to the troops.

We are funding an occupation. We supposedly won the war when we got Saddam. Remember Mission Accomplished.

Because democrats don't have absolute control.

Unfortunately there are still too many Bushidiots who support the war, but don't want to fight in it or pay for it.

The cons refuse to accept that retreat is a valid military tactile strategy, not 'cut and run'. Bush and GOP won't give us any options. They just keep failing and failing and failing. Our hands are really tied.

Since we have our troops in the front lines, we need to protect them. And it requires funding.
