Im looking for new licks to play on my saxaphone, whos a good person to get ideas from?

I am stunned by others' answers of Boots Randolph (who plays tenor and does hokey pop and country), Kenny G (who plays soprano mostly and terribly at that) Clarence Clemmons (c'mon - he's a tenor player), and Lester Young (a tenor player). Clearly, these folks do not know much about the saxophone or music, for that matter.
Here are my favorite choices for jazz altoists:

Ornette Coleman
Eric Dolphy (also plays flute and bass clarinet)
For R&B/Rock/Pop/Crossover:

King Curtis (also play tenor)
Jay Beckenstein (of Spyro Gyra)

Eric Marienthal
Tom Scott (also plays tenor)
Edgar Winter (surprised? don't be - he's a monster altoist)

A couple of saxaphone players that also play alto sax are Jeff Kashiwa and Paul Taylor

charlie parker of course! Try Scrapple From The Apple.
also, paul desmond (from the dave brubeck quartet) was a great alto saxophonist.

Charlie Parker hands down. He is the greatest alto saxophonist of all time. I especially love the stuff he did with Dizzy.
