What type of a smell do you get when you pour viniver over ash (burned out coals) Will you say nice or ......... not say nice.

Something like rose pettles or rotten eggs?

Let me know but beware don't try this at home for you might be in for a schock.

ashes are basic. So they would neutralize the acid.
if you had the right amount you would get a solution of potassium acetate and sodium acetate which would have no odor. If you used too much vinegar then there would not be enough to neutralize it and you would still have vinegar smell.

You get a foamy combination that smells like vinegar.
