The Vikings have been good in the past, but they have never been able to get over the hump. Its like a lot of teams in the NFL. They were in 4 Super Bowls in the 70's and in the late 90's early 2000's they were in the playoffs for 10 straight years and went to 2 NFC championship games. While they have fallen on some hard times, I like the direction they are going. It is the cycle in sports for teams to have ups and downs, for all thier accomplishments, where have the niners been the last 5 years. Same with the Colts before Mannings arrival. After doing major house cleaning after the Denny Green era, Yes, the Vikings will be good again, but it may take another year or two.

Yes. They have something good going in Minnesota. The key word is GOING. They're not there yet. They're going to have some growing pains with a quarterback who is essentially a rookie. Being a fan of the SWAC, I saw a lot of Travarius Jackson and I know he's talented enough to play in the NFL. Adrian Peterson helps relieve some of the pressure because he has no WR's to throw to. The defense was solid last year and they'll be solid again. They have a good enough team to CHALLENGE the Bears for the NFC North, because the other two teams (Detroit, Green Bay) are rebuilding. Chicago will win on defense, but there's no reason why the Vikes shouldn't contend for the division/wildcard.

no. they have no good players except for Adrian Peterson. Even if Peterson is good, he wont be behind that offensive line. if the vikings ever want to be good again they will have to do some serious work over the next few seasons. THey dont even have a decent quarterback. A quarterback is one of the most important players on a team. Name 5 good players on the vikings that people know. their 1st round pick last year, chad greenway, did not even play in the 2006 season so you know he won't do too good in the 2007 season. vikings need some serious help

The Minnesota Vikings have been to the playoffs more times than any other team since the NFL merger. So if that's not a measuring stick of "good" in your book, I don't know what is.

The Minnesota Vikings will do alot better this year because of the draft pick of Adrian Peterson the rb out of Oklahoma and i believe with him at full health, that means that the Vikings will do alot better with Adrian Peterson.

Edepends by what you mean by good. Sure they'll win a lot of games sometimes, they'll even look pretty dangerous... But ultimately they're a choke team. They're eternally the team that ALMOST made it.
Playing in a dome doesn't help them either since 2 games every year they have to play outside in the north (Green bay and chicago) and they're a bunch of wusses cos they're not used to the cold and bad weather..

Yes, as Jackson and Peterson blossom they will add some great players to their offense and defense. I won't be surprised, if the GM makes the right moves, if they go to the super bowl or conference championships in 5 years or less.

They have been in the past when they dominated the Central Division for years, and it's not impossible to believe that in a division as weak as that one is, outside of Chicago, they can become good again.
In all honesty, they lost a lot when they became a dome team.

They were 15-1 a few years ago. They've had good teams in the past, just haven't been able to put it all together and win the big one.
