plse help me to distiguish between continous assessment and examinations, essay of 1 x 5000 words?

Don't know about the essaay, but the basic difference is that CA is where all your work, or at least a representative slection is assessed for your final grade. Means U can get help from parents friends, this site, wherever, and it still counts. Examinations are a one-off situation where U are put into a room for a length of time and have to answer questions form your own knowledge. Each system has its own advantages + problems, but I don't have any more space. Hope this helps.
