How do you find things such as:
Ram space
Processors such as Pentium or Athlon
Ram space
Sound card
Video card
Is there any general application to find any of those above. I wouldn't like to buy a game without considering the system requirements of my laptop.

Find the game on the internet and read the system requirements.
Like this page http://www.elderscrolls.com/games/oblivion_faq.htm
Or if it's info about your computer you can use Everest or SIW.

SIW = http://www.gtopala.com/

right click on "My Computer" and select properties. The first screen that appears should have the processor type and speed, as well as the amount of RAM. Then you can select the "Hardware" tab and press the "Device Manager" button. This will open a new window. You will find the Video card under the "Display Adapters" grouping, the Processor under the "Processors" grouping and the Sound card under the "Sound, video and game controllers" grouping. Another place to find the Audio is in the "Sounds and Audio Devices" in the "Control Panel".

Hope that helps!

You would have to go to several different plkaces to get all that information. So I recommend that you go to http://belarc.com and download their free "Advisor" program.

Run it, and it will give you a page that has all the information and a lot more. Very very nice progam. Highly recommend it.

If you do not understand all the info on the printout, take it with you and the clerk at the store you help you understand it (usually).
