I have 8 pitchers in total but when I look at the best fantasy baseball teams, they all seem to have 8 SP's and about 4 RP's.

Should I drop extra DH's and OF's to add more quality SP's and RP's in my line-up?

p.s. When I look at maximum games, I'm expected to have a lot of unplayed innings. Maybe that's the answer to my question right there!

What do you think?

For my leagues, I like to have about 5-6 SP's but the thing is if people have like 8 then they have people who will hurt their ERA and WHIP. You want the best pitchers possible. For most leagues 3 RP's is a perfect amount. Some like to have 4 to win saves every week and 2 usually does not get it done. (unless they are amazing). More than 4: no point

For pitchers, I like to use my BN spots for pitchers

I prefer 5 SP and 5 RP. I put two RPs in the RP boxes and three in the P boxes and rotate the SPs to get as many starts as possible. The RPs usually have lower ERAs and WHIPs which is especially helpful in a ROTO league. I also like to keep one spot on my roster open to bring in a player for one day to cover for player off days etc.

If you get worried about maxing out on innings, hold out starting pitchers from games in Boston or Colorado or places where a lot of runs get scored.
