It said in the paper that Jack was carrying around that it was a man found dead. The name you could not read, but it started with a J.... and the last name looked as if it ended in ....antham??? Nobody has a name like this, so my guess is that it's someone we haven't met yet. Unless it's a fake name. Which is possible I guess too...Sawyer has used many. (I watched it back, screen by screen when Jack had the clipping out.) I'm like the rest of you...who the hell is it?!?!? Guess we'll just have to wait a loooooong time now to find out :(

Well reading your answers I'm inclined to say that (what I felt last night) that it was probably one of the 'poorer' members of the survivors. Locke isn't very rich, and he doesn't like technology. But I was thinking maybe it was Hurley, as the casket seemed quite big you know?

Another possibility could be that they found Charlie's body and nobody wanted to come, but I don't think that's possible either because he was in fact a huge rockstar. And Hurley was rich beyond anyone seemingly - and he was a friend to everyone.

It'd probably be Juliet then.

Of course I missed when they said "she" so it probably was Juliette. But it kinda of looked like a slummy area where the funeral home was. Why didn't the one guy want Jack to make the call? Because he thinks he would be paralyzed when he returned? And was Walt a halucination or was he really there? Who the *&%$# sent Naomi to the island and why didn't Charlie just JUMP on the other side of the door and lock it and get the diving equipment. Seemed like he wanted to drown.

i agree that charlie part was just strange he could of easily closed the door and escaped

but if you think about it Desmond knew it was Penny and would of ran over Charlie to get to that monitor and then probably die. so maybe thats why charlie did what he did

as for the casket yea it did say she but for some reason i think it was michael who was in that casket. the place where the funeral home was in a black community. sorry to get stereotypical there but remember michael wasnt very well off at the time. although wouldnt at least walt be at the funeral? but they did say friend or family and jack said neither. michael wasnt family and after he betrayed him(even if it was to save his son) that would of ment friendship was over. after all michael never did anything to get help for them.

yes they said she so it could be juliette but then again ben showed julietts sister alive so wouldnt she be at the funeral at least? and she went with sawyer(and hurley saved them both) to save jin and sayid and the other dude so i would think he and hurley would at least show up?

i rule out sun (i know shes pregnant and probably destined to die) but she was friend. claire was friend, rose was friend, maybe alex? but then again the russo would be there so it has to be Ben, Juliette, or Michael, maybe it was the new girl the hottie naomi(but why would jack visit her?)......or maybe someone they havent shown yet

No one knows.

My guess is Locke. Not friend nor family to Jack, was always a loner, and Jack could be so upset because Locke was right about the island. It could also possibly be Ben, simply because no one would want to visit Ben (and like Kate gave such disdain in her tone when she said "Why would I go to the funeral?") but again Jack would be upset because Ben was right about the freighter.

They never actually said, but I could have sworn the referred to the deceased as "she" at one point so my guess would be Juliette. That would also explain why no one went and why Kate would seem so offended when Jack asked her to go to the funeral... but who knows!

I think it is someone we haven't met yet.

The casket is TOO SHORT to be any adult we've met.

The casket is also too short to be Walt.
