Nigerians have been identified as buying secondhand computers to get passwords and Internet banking access. They are also big in the scam where they have a person who writes to you to ask you whether you will give your banking details to wash a multi-million dollar payment that was embezzled from the Nigerian or Ghanaian governments.

Most commonly, Nigerian and Ghana, it originates from there through public means. Some of the scams use the country names even through it originates from another place like France. China is is more but not as publicized. China has more scams relating to counterfeit merchandise. U.S. and Canada it is mostly investments and more nuisance types that take time to solve it. So forth.

Overall, China is the worst offender but the mass media does not harp on it as much. I know since I have investigated a a number of cases involving a bogus products.
