Yes, I suppose one personality wants to destroy the other, but since they are both in the same brain, that consequently means destruction of both, which does not necessarily mean physical death, but could be madness or some other psychical distortion ...

I agree with the above- if you think about it, how could a multiple personalities suicide be tried as a murder or homocide? The defendant (murderer / homocidal personality) would already be dead, and the victim could gain nothing (as far as financial compensation) from the defendant, so it would be pointless to try this situation in such a way where one person was both victim and defendant.

I think the same applies to the hostage situation / suicide. But it would be interesting if people or psychologist started viewing multiple personalities as independent beings...

if u have multiple personalities and you kill yourself....i would not consider it murder. i believe this because the one individual personality decided to commit "suicide"...what would be the motive for the other personality to want to kill off all personalities when they are not even aware that they are even there? i believe that people who suffer from DID - dissociative identity disorder are completely unaware of the others. what it comes down to is that the individual personality that had taken there life was ill and that personality believed that it wasn't worth living....besides ....what good would it do to consider it murder???

Regardless of what personality you take you are still one being. People can change too. Just not so rampantly.
