You may find the leg room of VW Polo for yourself.
Large cars do not come with small engine size.
So you will have to buy a medium size car,

Ford Escort 1200cc
Vauxhall Astra 1400cc

I have a full size pickup (chevy) with a v-6 and i will never buy another one.The engine is to small for it and the mileage sucks because its under powered.Be careful if your looking at cars that can have a v-8 from the factory and have a v-6 it will suck more gas cuz it has to work harder to get to speed.I had an 82 olds delta 88 with a 455 4 barrel that got better gas miles than this truck. So when looking and the car can have a v-8 from the factory and it has a v6 it will probably be a turtle and suck gas

You could look at taller small cars.

Try the Mazda 2 (or older Demio), Ford Fusion, Renault Modus, Renault Kangoo, Opel/Vauxhall Agila, Opel/Vauxhall Meriva, Fiat Panda, Fiat Idea, Fiat Doblo, Peugeot 1007, Suzuki Wagon R+, Hyundai Atos/Amica.

Ford Escort.
Comfortable. Spacey. Cheap to run.
I think you can get a 1.4/ 1.6

Though getting a big car and a small engine means weedy power!

New style Renault Clio

All the room you could ask for and available as a 1.2 petrol or 1.5 diesel.

try getting a classic large car. lots of leg room cheap insurance and you'll look cool too. downside is bad mileage rates and poor reliability.

I'm short so i don't have this problem. my problems are in the cinema and in busy bars.

All should be big enough to accomodtae you but cheap enough for you to insure.
