Do you think the Chinese have double standards with regard to the Law ? They are against drugs ,but why not animal cruelty, do they condone the lack of humanity in the Horror Zoos? Drugs are also tested on animals in their country !On the one hand they use parts of the Tigers anatomy for chinese medicine and on the other hand they habitualize Tigers in captivity and do not encourage them to kill their prey.Their cruelty is obvious and they have no concern for the suffering of animals ! Their attitude disgusts me.

Double standards? They have NO standards. But nothing can be done, don't fool yourself thinking you can. The Government has total control.

The more exposure there is on the cruel and barbaric ways in which the Chinese treat animals, the more likely there'll be a change in their unethical treatments to animals. It seems that the Chinese thrive on cruelty and ill treatments to animals, so much so that it's almost a norm to them, like it's part of their culture and lifestyle. Their horrendous acts on animals are far too many to list.
Most Chinese do not bother to change this attitude and mind set because cruelty to animals is part of the way they do things around there. They believe that animals are lowly and anything that walks, flies or swims is food. So, respect and love for animal life is almost unheard of to them.
Even if animal rights and campaigns are held there in China to try to publicize the ethical treatment of animals, it requires the message to be widely spread in Mandarin because a big majority of mainland chinese don't even know simple english, not even a 'yes' or 'no.'
Exposure, public awarness and education are the means to widely spread the unacceptable ways the Chinese are treating animals. When this subject of animal cruelty by the Chinese comes to light to a worldwide mass, when there is more pressure on the Chinese to correct and review their ways, would there at least be some amendments in their actions and mindset towards animals. The Chinese have to wake up and see that animals have to be treated ethically and that their actions are not accepted and in fact, despised by many people, of many races in other countries.
People who can't show compassion to animals do not possess human ethics and reasoning.

Everyone has a part to play to stop animal cruelty. Every act and every voice has the ability to make the change happen.

You can tell about the people of a country by the way they treat their animals -- Mahatma Ghandi
