I am looking at a Classic and have learned the LS/LT model is different, although they carry the same year.

The classic was the old model (N-body like the Buick Skylark, Oldsmobile Achieva, Oldsmobile Alero, Oldsmobile Cutlass, and Pontiac Grand Am) that they continued making for fleet sales only. The other is a new model (Epsilon like the Saab 9-3, Pontiac G6, Saturn Aura, Fiat Croma, Holden/Opel/Vauxhall Vectra) which was for regular sales only.

They are completely different cars.

probably some interior comforts. better radio, things like that.
take the base car you will never get the money back on resale for any of the special optiosn on any car.
